Caremark administers the prescription drug program for Community Health Plan. This service is provided to our members through a retail pharmacy network and a mail–order/Internet service. Caremark also offers Therapeutic Services to our members who need Care Management services along with medical prior authorization as required for certain prescription drugs. Please visit the Caremark website for more detailed information on services available to members.
Our members may obtain their prescriptions using either the retail pharmacy network for short–term medication needs or the mail–order benefit for long-term medications. Your benefit summary will show your prescription benefit level. If it includes a Preferred Drug List, please show your physician this list and request that one of the drugs on the list be prescribed as appropriate.
