Thank you for your interest in working at Heartland Health. We are as proud of our community as we are in being members of Team Heartland. If you are not familiar with the area, Heartland is located in St. Joseph, Mo., on the banks of the Missouri River. Our "wild west" roots include the Pony Express and famous northwest Missourian Jesse James, but this tight-knit community of approximately 80,000 people has evolved.
Today, St. Joseph is one of the largest cities in Missouri offering the conveniences of metropolitan living with amenities you will only find in a small town. Outstanding schools, a clean environment with neighbors who value health and wellness and never-ending opportunities to participate in sports, government and cultural affairs are all available to those who have an interest.
Heartland Health itself is an integrated, not-for-profit, community-based health care delivery system. Heartland Regional Medical Center has 351 staffed acute-care beds in a Level II trauma center. It is Joint Commission accredited.
Our physician practice includes 30 Heartland Clinic locations - one of them in Platte City, Mo., specializing in cardiac, neurosciences, orthopedics, women's, children's, oncology, surgery and primary care. Health and wellness programs, Aetna® health insurance products, and business services are provided through Community Health Improvement Solutions. We offer community support initiatives, such as emPowerU, a state-of-the-art technology learning center, managed through the Heartland Foundation.
One of the most important aspects of working at Heartland is our focus on hiring people who make a commitment to uphold our HEART behavior standards. HEART stands for Hear, Excellence, Appearance, Responsibility and Teamwork - these behaviors are indispensible in terms of giving very good care to our customers, both internal and external. If you choose to take part in the application process, you will be asked to complete pre-hire assessment that allows our Human Resources Department and hiring managers to look at your background, work experience and "HEART."
